Join Our Team: CLIA is Hiring a Staff Attorney and Legal Assistant / DOJ Accredited Representative
The Center for Legal Immigration Assistance (CLIA) is growing—and we’re looking for passionate, mission-driven professionals to join our legal team in Lincoln, Nebraska. We currently have two exciting opportunities:
Staff Attorney
This role is ideal for a licensed attorney with a passion for immigration law and public interest work. As a Staff Attorney at CLIA, you’ll provide legal advice and representation for a variety of immigration matters, including U and T Visas, Adjustment of Status, and Citizenship/Naturalization applications. You'll also have the opportunity to represent clients in immigration court and work closely with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Qualifications include:
J.D. degree and bar admission (or eligibility)
Experience in immigration law preferred
Commitment to CLIA’s mission
Strong research, writing, and communication skills
Legal Assistant / DOJ Accredited Representative
This is a great entry point for someone early in their legal career or looking to grow into a DOJ Accredited Representative role. We hire Legal Assistants with the intention of supporting their training and development toward DOJ Accreditation. In this position, you’ll work under supervision to assist clients with immigration paperwork, conduct interviews, and prepare case documentation—all while learning the ins and outs of immigration legal services.
Ideal candidates will have:
A passion for public interest legal work
Experience working with diverse populations
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Second language proficiency (preferred but not required)
